How high is Hampts Pass?
Hampta Pass is at a height of 14,065 feet/ 4287 meters.
The trek starts from Jobra (9379 ft/ 2858 m) and leads you to Hampta pass (14065 ft/ 4287 m) in two and half days. It’s an average of 2000 ft/600 m of height giant everyday.
Balu Ka Ghera and then from the pass there is a steep climb. From the pass the descent is steep to Shea Goru and then gentler.
What is the difficulty level of Hampta Pass trek?
Hampta Pass Trek is moderate in terms of difficulty level between easy to difficult.
From Manali which is at a height of 6,725 ft, you have to trek 4 days and reach a height of 14,000 ft.
It is an easy hike for the most part through the valley.
However, the pass becomes harder as you get closer. It is a long walk (almost 9 hours) of the pass crossing day.
Thus, the trek is moderate. This is a good trek for fit first timers.
I am more than 58 years old. Can I do this trek?
Yes you can!
For those who are above the age of 58 years, you have to submit a Treadmill Test (not older than 12 months) within a week of completing your trek registration. Besides this, you should also be able to jog 5 km within 45 minutes.
How to Get Fit for Hampta Pass trek?
So, a Himalayan trek such as Hampta Pass requires good fitness level. There are long walks daily on the trek. We need you to be as a measure of your fitness.
Before your trek you should run at least 5 km in 35 minutes. Also, consistency of your workout is important, your weekly goal should be 20 km of jogging or 80 km in a month. If you want to trek with us it is a minimum mandatory requirement.
Will there be any mobile network on the trek?
There is no network coverage on this trek. The network will cut off just after you ascend from Prini. Prini is the last point where you will receive network on the way ahead.
On your return, you will get a network only near Atal Tunnel and Manali.
Before departing Manali, phone your friends and family and inform them that you will not be accessible to them until the return to Manali on Day 6.
Where are ATMs available during the trek?
There is no base village for Hampta pass, unlike in other treks. The trek begins at Jobra, and the taxi will drop you there.
There are several ATMs near Aleo while going towards base camp. In case you wish to have some cash with you, this is where you must withdraw money from.
There aren’t any ATMs after the pass crossing either until you reach Manali once again.
Will there be electricity at the campsite/s or on the trek?
There is no electricity throughout the trek. The only place you’ll find a plug to charge your phone or camera batteries will be Manali before and after the trek.
Therefore use your electronic equipment wisely. Fully charge your batteries before leaving your hotel, and use your electronic equipment minimally.
One other point to mention is that the cold weather reduces the battery life more quickly. Extra batteries or a power bank prove to be useful.
Is the Cloakroom facility accessible on the Hampta Pass trek?
Yes, there is an option to offload unwanted luggage you do not require on the trek at Aleo Base Camp (Star Adventure Camp). (Please Inform if you have Laptops & Electronics) Additional 500/- Charge for Precious products. 250 Rupess Additional charge per Bag for offloading this luggage at the base camp, and you need not pre-book it anywhere.
Is Offloading available on this trek?

But in case — owing to a medical condition — you are not able to carry your rucksack, you can offload your rucksack.
The cost of offloading on the Hampta Pass trek is Rs 1000 per Bag Per Day.
